If thoughts of sipping cocktails at a sunny Spanish beach this summer make you sane, you might have a little time to wait before it becomes a reality.

No outside holidays will be allowed until 17th May, according to the UK Government road map.

As updated on March 3, the latest travel advice from the Commonwealth Overseas Development Office is that only essential travel is permitted to Spain, including the Balearic Islands.

These include the islands of Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentura.

The travel restrictions, which were imposed on December 22, 2020, are in effect until at least March 16, which means that you will only be able to travel necessary to Spain if you are a citizen of Spain, Andorra, or a legal resident.

However, the Spanish government has officially confirmed that UK citizens who have resided legally in Spain before 1 January 2021 will be able to present documents other than the EU residence certificate to prove their residency status upon entering Spain.

Until March 8, anyone traveling to Spain must complete a notice form that allows them to travel legally from the UK, and travelers who do not do so will be fined $ 200.

If you are traveling to Spain for an official purpose, you must complete a health monitoring form 48 hours prior to arrival, which will prove to be a negative PCR test result.

When you come to Spain, you will have to undergo a visual health examination and a temperature test.
