Diaz-Canel returns to Cuba after participating in the CELAC • Workers' Summit

President Miguel Díaz-Canel returned to Cuba today, after participating in the eighth summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), where he affirmed his country's commitment to promoting regional integration.

Back home, making sure that Celak is moving forward, the president confirmed on his account on the social network X.

The Head of State stressed on the platform that his country continues to support integration and peace in the region, a statement he expressed during the regional event, in the space designated to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the Declaration on Latin America and the Caribbean. As a peace zone.

Diaz-Canel confirmed in X his participation in the popular rally that will be held tomorrow in the Caribbean country in solidarity with Palestine.

During his speech at the summit held in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the President stressed the need to maintain calm so that people can continue meeting and discussing in a civilized and respectful manner.

He stressed that defending peace also means further rejection of unilateral coercive measures and blockades imposed by powerful states that seek to act as global judges to isolate and subjugate sovereign states.

He also stressed that the declaration of peace was still very early, but it was undoubtedly a landmark in the history of young Celak.

Within the framework of the regional meeting, Diaz-Canel held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley, to whom he expressed his country’s interest in moving forward with the commitments reached during his official visit to that Caribbean country in 2022.

The two parties affirmed their desire to strengthen cooperation relations in areas of common interest for the benefit of both countries.

CELAC, made up of 33 countries, is a regional intergovernmental mechanism that emerged in December 2011 to promote political, economic, social and cultural unity and integration.
