The University of Navarra Science Museum has awarded the “Passion for Science” award, from the International Science Film Festival #LabMeCrazy!, to Juan Luis Arsuaga, Professor of Paleontology at the Complutense University of Madrid and Scientific Director of the Humana de Burgos Evolution Museum, for her excellent record in promoting scientific communication and culture.
This honor will be given at the Festival Awards Ceremony that will take place on Tuesday, February 20 at 7:00 pm at the Theater of the Museum of the University of Navarra.
Juan Luis Arsuaga (Madrid, 1954) holds a PhD in Biological Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid, where he is Professor of Paleontology at the Faculty of Geosciences.
He currently directs the UCM-Carlos III Health Center for Human Coevolution and Behavior; He is the scientific director of the Museum of Human Evolution in Burgos. He participated in the management of excavations at Neanderthal sites in Pinilla del Valle (Madrid).
Most of his scientific career was developed at sites in the Sierra de Atapuerca, a project that won him the Prince of Asturias Prize for Scientific and Technical Research in 1997.

On the occasion of this honor, Dr. Arsuaga will hold a conference open to the public on “Our Body, Seven Million Years of Evolution” on Wednesday, February 21 at 12:00 noon in the University Science Building Hall. Navarre.
