Indonesia Investment Forum 2023 presents UK investment opportunities in green sector and digital transformation in Indonesia – Asia News


With the aim of encouraging investment in the green sector, digital transformation, sustainable trade and supply chains, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in London, in cooperation with the representative office of Bank Indonesia in London and the Indonesian Investment Promotion Center (IIPC) London, will host the Indonesia Investment Forum (IIF) 2023 in London on October 5, 2023.

IIF 2023 is an annual event aimed at showcasing and promoting Indonesia’s investment landscape and Investment Ready Projects (IPRO). This forum will be enriched with business meeting sessions showcasing selected IPRO projects from 11 sectors, including renewable energy, electric and digital vehicles, infrastructure, transport and tourism.

IIF 2023 marks the start of a series of “Experience Indonesia” events, including cultural arts shows and SME product exhibitions during “Indonesian Night” on the evening of 5 October, along with Experience Indonesia Dublin, which will be the first Indonesian cultural arts showcase. in Ireland over the past five years.

“During Experience Indonesia 2022, we had the pleasure of hosting 4,000 visitors over 3 days, resulting in cooperation agreements valued at more than $75 million,” said Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, Desra Berkaya.

The Ambassador hopes that IIF 2023 can establish closer investment cooperation between the two countries, “particularly as the value of Indonesian-British investment continues to rise steadily, in line with Indonesia’s prominent position on the world’s economic front.” In 2022, British investments in Indonesia reached a significant figure of $822 million, strengthening its position as the tenth largest investor in the country.

Nearly 20 speakers have been confirmed to attend this forum, including prominent figures from both countries. This forum features an impressive line-up of keynote speakers including British Minister of State Nusrat Ghani (Minister of Investment Security Unit and Minister of Business and Economic Security), along with Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo and BKPM Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia.

IIF 2023 is an annual event aimed at showcasing and promoting Indonesia’s investment landscape and investment projects ready to be showcased.

For his part, Richard Graham, the British Prime Minister’s trade envoy to Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), will provide insight into the promising potential of the economic partnership between Indonesia and the United Kingdom. In addition, our panel discussions will feature prominent leaders from the banking and business sectors in Indonesia, the UK and Europe.

The event is also supported by Bank Mandiri, BNI, British-ASEAN Business Council, British Chamber of Commerce Indonesia, ASEAN Business Partners, TheCityUK, Citigroup, Standard Chartered, KPMG and BP.
