The US Secretary of Defense arrives in Angola

According to a statement by the US Department of Defense, the visit to Luanda will focus on strengthening defense relations and exploring ways to increase military cooperation between the two countries.

The local press also notes that this is the first visit to the country for someone in this position.

The US Embassy in Angola and Sao Tome and Principe announced that Austin will deliver a speech on the new angles of Washington’s policy towards Africa, and his topic will be “The Power of Partnership.”

According to a statement from the diplomatic headquarters, this conference, which will be held at the headquarters of the National Historical Archives of Angola, will be the only statement to the press during the visit.

The Minister of Defense arrived in Luanda after his stay in Kenya, where a day ago he signed an agreement to provide support and resources to the international security mobilization, on the eve of the African country’s leadership of the multinational peacekeeping force in Haiti.

The two parties also determined the main lines of mutual relations on defense matters for the next five years.
