Chevening Scholarships in UK for Cubans

Some young Cubans may choose to receive a Chevening scholarship to pursue postgraduate studies at an English university. This was confirmed by the UK Embassy in Havana.

This opportunity is part of an annual program funded by the British Government for the best students from around the world. Thus, registrations for the year 2024 will begin next Tuesday, September 12.

Ana Laura, Idemaris and Libre are three Cuban professionals who have benefited from this British government programme. Specifically, in previous years they studied a master’s degree in that country with all expenses paid.

In this sense, these scholarships allow young people from different parts of the world to study a master’s degree for one academic year in British territory.

For his part, more than 50,000 students from 160 countries benefited from the program. In the case of Cuba specifically, the number reached 120 graduates.

This is why candidates are sought who have the ability to innovate, lead and project, but the contract requires them to return to their country of origin.

What are the requirements?

First, you must be a university graduate and have at least two years of work experience. On the other hand, you must not have previously benefited from British funding to study in the UK.

It is important that those interested visit the official online portal so that they can find all the information they need there.

In this sense, academic documents, references and an unconditional university offer from a British institution are required to carry out the application process.

That is, when candidates are accepted by the university, they must apply for the scholarship program.

Finally, they will interview British diplomats in Cuba, where they will have to prove their potential and commitment to the Chevening community.

If selected, Chevening will cover the costs of their studies, plus the round-trip flight, plus a monthly allowance.
