Artificial Intelligence vs. Human Intelligence: Feeling the Difference

With the advancement of artificial intelligence, instead of being afraid of what we might lose, it would be a good idea to ask ourselves In areas where human skills will continue to be relevantand that is, where we’ll get the biggest difference from the fact that we’re human.

Contrary to the idea that AI comes to take places, jobs, and even relationships, We can take advantage of this moment of change to reflect on what comes next to give us more value. “Being” vs. “appearing,” in a way, can become the most important differentiator in terms of what we want to do with our time as human beings. In this model, AI will not come to replace men or women, but rather to give them more value due to their ability to feel and move.

There are some areas where creativity, empathy, and human judgment remain, for the time being, irreplaceable. We may have lost the battle in generating information but not in the relationship between humans. We already know that artificial intelligence has entered language, but it has not yet succeeded in infiltrating emotions and consciousness. And when you want to do it, the mere fact of trying will place more value on people and human relationships, precisely because they are people rather than machines. This will promote the arrival of a new era – which we are already living in but which still seems to be in its infancy – in which emotions and feelings are and will be divergent.

Facing this technological revolution from this perspective allows us to see artificial intelligence in a different way, and to pull it out of that hole of “the tool that can replace the human race”. With progress being made in many areas, it will at the same time enhance human relations and put communication on a pedestal, as a new added value for the future. In organizations, this will be reflected in the new leadership needs: a combination of skills such as persuasive communication, emotional intelligence, ethics, responsibility and the ability to motivate..

Although AI will be able to replace a human in many of its abilities or functions, the trend is that it will not be able to do so in its interaction. No matter how perfect a technology is – even within the organizations that create and enhance it – the richness of human exchange cannot be replaced.

Artificial intelligence is a new and very powerful technological tool. As ChatGPT itself says in its definition of it, artificial intelligence allows us to enhance human capabilities. Today more than ever, this new scenario should allow us to appreciate what comes naturally to us: our abilities to work in a team, to communicate and to solve problems through diversity of ideas. It’s time not to give in to the machines. We are in time to empower ourselves as human beings.
