Nicaragua participates in the World Development Forum in China

MANAGUA, July 10 (Prensa Latina) A delegation from Nicaragua is today participating in the first high-level conference of the Global Joint Development Forum to be held in China, an official note here said.

Within the framework of the meeting organized by the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), the Presidential Adviser to the Sandinista Government for Investment, Trade and International Cooperation, Laureano Ortega, held a meeting with the Chairman of the said entity, Lu Zhaouhui.

According to the text, the day before, Zhaouhui conveyed to the representative of the Central American country, also consisting of the Minister of Finance and Public Credit, Iván Acosta, the greetings of President Xi Jinping and Vice President Han Zheng to the highest authorities of Nicaragua. .

He thanked Nicaragua for its hospitality during his stay in the country last April when they signed thermal power and housing construction projects.

In addition, he reported the approval of two cooperation projects, the first related to the supply of 500 Chinese-made buses and the second to donate more than 2,500 metric tons of urea to promote national production targets.

For his part, Ortega thanked China for its unconditional and mutually beneficial solidarity and cooperation, which he said is “a sign of the strength of our bilateral relations.”

He stressed that the delegation’s visit to Beijing aims to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood that unite the two peoples, parties and governments.

With this in mind, Minister Acosta stressed that China has adjusted the way it implements international cooperation for development by strengthening solidarity and creating opportunities for developing countries.

He stressed that Nicaragua remains firm in its determination to reduce poverty by giving priority to stabilizing the economy, which generates confidence for Chinese investments.
