The British Embassy in Costa Rica will open the application period for Costa Ricans interested in the UK Government Chevening Scholarship on August 8, aimed at professionals who demonstrate leadership and have the potential to make a positive difference in their field and in your community. .

Those interested were encouraged to apply for this educational option by the British Ambassador, Ben Lister Baines, who he insisted did not take into account “age, gender, religion or culture” for awarding the scholarship.
Lyster-Binns said: “If you are passionate about leading change, if you want to be the best at what you do, and if you have the imagination to inspire others, then a Chevening Fellowship could be the perfect opportunity for you,” said Lyster-Binns.
The diplomat emphasized that they are looking for people with “energy, curiosity, compassion, a clear vision for the future” and the ability to achieve goals.
“There is a lot to gain by applying, so if you have what it takes to become a Chevening Scholar, I encourage you to apply,” she insisted.
Chevening Embassy Officer Glenda Quiros explained that they will hold information sessions in the coming months to highlight this opportunity.
Similarly, he added, there will be one-on-one sessions with previous grantees of the program, where applicants will have the opportunity to seek advice on specific topics.
“We invite professionals interested in the program to join one of these informative and interactive sessions,” he said.
The Chevening Scholarship offers comprehensive coverage that includes tuition fees, accommodation and return travel, as well as a monthly allowance for personal expenses.

Scholarship recipients will also have access to an extensive network of Chevening professionals and alumni, as well as exclusive events organized by the British Embassy in Costa Rica.
The application process will take place online, through the official website: Chevening. There, interested persons must complete the application form, attach the required documents and submit four short essays.
Applicants have until November 7, 2023.
In Costa Rica, the Embassy has awarded scholarships to more than 90 program history professionals, in fields as diverse as public health, behavioral economics, and international human rights.
