Flights from uk to guanacaste

As a result of negotiations led by the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT), British Airways TUI Airways will resume flights from England to Guanacaste once a week from 1 November 2023 and continue through the 2024 high season.

The flight will take off at London Gatwick International Airport on Wednesday with a Boeing 787-900 Dreamliner, with a capacity of 345 seats configured as follows: 63 business class seats and 282 economy class seats.

“The return of TUI Airways will enhance the destination of Guanacaste and boost tourism in the country at the start of the 2023 peak season with an additional and direct connection to the old continent,” said ICT Investment Attraction Chief Hermes Navarro.

We are excited to announce that TUI will return to Guanacaste in November 2023, which means a short break in service of just eight months. This is a positive sign that cements Guanacaste as an international destination. Restoring the route linking London Gatwick with Guanacaste, both airports operated by VINCI Airports, is critical to strengthening our presence in Europe. We are working on finding more routes to new destinations,” said Cesar Jaramillo, General Manager of CORIPORT, Guanacaste Airport Franchise.

The arrival of TUI Airways joins 15 airlines currently arriving at Guanacaste Airport, connecting that province with 23 international destinations. TUI Airways is the only airline that connects Guanacaste directly with Europe.

Guanacaste received TUI Airways in November 2021 after a hiatus of 20 months due to the pandemic. Between March and November this year, the airline will not fly for reasons of operating costs.
