The Faculty of Forestry and Environmental Sciences celebrates 40 years

The community of the College of Forestry and Environmental Sciences at the University of Juarez, Durango State (FCFYA-UJED) celebrated the institution’s 40th anniversary with an official ceremony, highlighting the international accreditation that guarantees the academic quality of its programs. Awards were also presented to outstanding college students for their performance during these 40 years in college.

In his welcome message, Director Raúl Solís Moreno thanked the presence of representatives of federal, state and university institutions, starting with University President Rubén Solís Rios, who praised him for the support he has given the college; He said, “The growth that we witnessed was with the support of the university president; in terms of infrastructure, equipment, certificates, and accreditations, without his support, we would not have reached the indicators.”

For his part, Solís Rios highlighted the strength of the academic quality of FCFyA, which has its academic programs for Forestry Engineer and Environmental Engineer duly accredited and internationally accredited; He highlighted the management of the 5,000-hectare “Las Payas” property, which only this college has across the country that promotes hands-on training for students, and a forest fire prevention platform, among other aspects.

It should be noted that FCFyA has three unified academic bodies, in addition to 80 percent of the 71 professors – of whom 16 are full-time – have postgraduate studies, which is why the director also especially thanked the academic, administrative and students of the institution, as everyone’s hard work enhances the work and achievements of the college , which puts the UJED name ahead.
