It is a service that is part of the family planning and contraceptive program business, is a safe and permanent method of contraception, and can be performed by any man of legal age who requests it, as long as he has received information or advice and has decided to undergo the procedure voluntarily.
According to the Government of the Republic of Mexico, during 2021, more than 40,000 vasectomies were performed in the country, 10,000 more than in 2019, when 30,000 operations were performed. In 2017, it was indicated that only 2% of Mexicans practice this intervention.
