Implements a forensic science approach with relatives of the disappeared

CIUDAD GUZMÁN, JAL., (ES). – The Human Identification Center will be in Jalisco in the municipality of Zapotlán el Grande to conduct interviews and take DNA samples from relatives of disappeared persons.

Yesica Gutiérrez, Head of the Documentation and Investigation Department of the Jalisciense Institute of Forensic Sciences, said in an interview that the aim of this visit is to approach the relatives who have disappeared to collect information about their loved ones and compare it with the people they have at the anonymous institute.

After the interview with the relatives, a DNA sample is taken from the saliva to compare the genetic information with the bodies in the stands. These tests are analyzed in Guatemala, so delays in results may be variable.

Regarding the response of citizens in the municipality and this southern region of the state, the head of the Documentation and Investigation District of the IJCF explained that the response was good, they received about 10 people, but he urges families with relatives who have disappeared so that they can. Approaching this brigade, as it is not required that there be a complaint before the Public Prosecution Office on charges of disappearance.

The brigade is located at the Rubén Fuentes Music School, located at 138 Federico del Toro Street, from 9 am to 3 pm and will be there until February 25.
