Investing.com – The UK Stock Exchange closed higher on Thursday; Sector gains, indexes lead higher.
At the close in London, it was up 0.10%.
Among the best performers during the session was Coca Cola HBC AG (LON :), which rose 4.69%, or 106.0 points, to settle at 2,366.0 at the close. It was followed by Avast PLC (LON 🙂 which rose 4.34% or 21.30 points to close at 512.50, then Intertek Group PLC (LON 🙂 which rose 3.71% or 207.5 points until the session closed at 5,797.5.
To the tail of the pointer is over Meggitt PLC (LON 🙂 which fell 2.65% or 11.20 points to close at 411.00. For its part, Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (LON 🙂 fell 2.52% or 34.4 points, and closed at 1,328.8, while Royal Dutch Shell PLC B (LON 🙂 2.53%, lost 33.0 points, and closed at 1,273.0.
Green numbers outnumbered reds on the London Stock Exchange by 1,185 versus 1,102, and 98 was flat.
Gold futures for April delivery fell 0.30%, or 5.55, to $ 1,837.15 an ounce. Regarding other commodities, crude oil futures for March delivery fell 0.29% or $ 0.17 to settle at $ 58.51 a barrel, while Brent crude for April delivery fell 0.13%, $ 0.08, to reach $ 61.39 a barrel.
The GBP / USD was down 0.09% to 1.3816, while EUR / GBP advanced 0.27% to 0.8780.
The dollar index rose 0.04% to 90.398.
