London, Jan. 17 (EFE). – Train drivers in the UK will go on strike on February 1 and 3, after the Aslef union – which includes this union together – rejected a 4% salary offer from railway companies.
The general secretary of the aforementioned trade union group, Mick Whelan, said today that the salary offer was “unacceptable”, at the same time stressing that the workers remained “willing to conduct further negotiations with the train operators”. in order to reach a solution to the dispute.
The first day of the strike announced today will coincide with a strike that will be supported by 100,000 civil servants as well as teachers, in other labor disputes over salaries and working conditions.
The 15 railway companies that will be affected by the stoppage include, among others, Avanti West Coast, Chiltern Railway, Cross Country, East Midlands Railway or Great Western Railway.

The trade union leader lamented that the country’s railway companies wanted to “destroy” their contractual terms in exchange for “low wages in real terms”.
