United Kingdom: Aker Solutions wins Rosebank FPSO contract for Altera Infrastructure

Aker Solutions I got hold of Altera Infrastructure for full update Floating Production Storage and Offloading Vessel (FPSO) Petrojarl Knarr which will be redistributed in development Equinor’s Rosebank Field, abroad in the United Kingdom.

The chosen development concept for the Rosebank field includes the redeployment and reuse of the existing Petrojarl Knarr FPSO owned by Altera.

The work will be carried out in a joint venture (JV) with Drydocks World – Dubai, The upgrade will take place at the company’s shipyard in Dubai, UAE. The EPC contract is a combination of work with new construction, demolition and life extension (hull, offshore and upper systems) required in order for the FPSO to remain in the field for 25 years without going into drydock. Detailed design will be carried out in Norway by Aker Solutions in association with Citec Norway AS, ABB Norway AS, OneSubsea Processing AS.

The EPC works are scheduled to start during the first half of 2023 and are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025. The Petrojarl Knarr FPSO was moved to Aker Solutions’ Stord yard in August 2022 and will be stored there until a planned drawdown to Dubai during the second half of 2023 .
