More than 90,200 people visit the Alhambra in Granada during Christmas

The Alhambra and Generalife mega complex regained pre-pandemic Christmas figures, adding 90,249 visitors throughout the Christmas period, which meant an occupancy rate of 98.81%. Some data appreciated by Rocío Diaz, General Director of the Board of Trustees of the Alhambra and Generalife, indicate that the Alhambra in Granada remains one of the most sought-after cultural destinations in Spain, as well as an economic locomotive of the city.

Visitors to the Alhambra this Christmas, who are purchased 15 days in advance, mainly come from national tourism, which on these dates accounted for 48.60%.

Compared to other months, a rebound was observed in international tourism, mainly from the United States and the United Kingdom. For its part, South Korea is the nationality that has grown the most in percentage terms at this time.

The Director General of the Council of the Alhambra and Generalife also highlighted the large number of Granada families who participated this Christmas in the various educational programs organized by the Council during the weekends to bring together the heritage value of the monument, which had brought together 385 people.
