Tomorrow, February 11th, Science Park celebrates Girls and Women’s Day in Science with an online workshop that has already enrolled more than 600 students from all over Andalusia. Two researchers, UGR Professor of Geodynamics, Anna Crespo, and Head of the Prevention Zone at the Andalusian Institute of Geophysics and Seismic Disaster Prevention, Mercedes Viritsch, have starred in an activity in which they try to publish the current issue such as earthquakes and spotlight female scientists, while presenting women’s references in Science can serve as an inspiration to foster advocacy among girls and young women.
Entitled “Earthquakes: They Tell Us About It”, the activity in which Granada’s Regional Representative for Education and Sport, Anna Perucal, will be broadcast live at 11 am on the museum’s YouTube channel. Attendees will be able to put their doubts and questions to the experts through the channel chat.
Additionally, the museum sets aside the month of February to spread SDG 5 gender equality with the watchtower illuminated in red, the color representing this SDG, and thematic visits on weekends. A guided tour whose main focus is to showcase the female visual scientists who have contributed to the advancement of science.
