Las Leonas beat Great Britain in ProLeague – Sports

The Argentine women’s field hockey team, Las Leonas, defeated the Great Britain team 1-0, in a match corresponding to the regular phase of the FIH ProLeague field hockey.

At the Santiago del Estero Regional Sports Center stadium, the Albiceleste team, led by DT Fernando Ferrara, triumphed with an early invasion by Julieta Yanconas of Córdoba, a minute into the match.

The Las Leonas squad included Clara Barbieri. Maria Sol Lombardo, Agustina Gorzelani, and Lucina von der Heide; Eugenia Trincente, Rocio Sánchez Moccia, Jimena Cedres, and Valentina Marcucci; Delfina Thome, Julieta Yanconas, and Maria Jose Granato.

Then Sofia Tocalino, Agustina Alonso, Costanza Sirondolo, Victoria Sauz, Milagros Fernandez Ladra and Bianca Donati entered.

With this result, the Argentine national team regained the top spot in the standings, with 14 units in 8 performances, after 4 wins, two draws and two losses. In second place came the Netherlands (who won two matches against Las Leonas) with 12 points in 4 matches.

And the competition for the Argentine national team will resume in March 2023, with two matches against the United States and the local national team, Australia, in the city of Hobart.
