The local mayor’s office has begun building the “Centro de Especialidades Médicas Ampliacion Palo Solo”, which will be alternative medical services for more than 20,000 people in the less popular area, with services such as pediatrics, gynecology, geriatrics, orthopedics, and internships. medicine, among other things, without having to travel long distances to obtain specialized, high-quality care.

Mayor Romina Contreras Carrasco stated that the work corresponds to one of the constant requests that the residents of the district are carrying out in the area.

The mayor said the center will bring together medical professionals, such as cardiologists, orthopedic surgeons, and general practitioners, and there will also be pulmonologists and others, as requested by residents.

Romina Contreras stressed that the purpose of this space is to meet the constant demand of the population, who require access to specialized medical services, as there is currently no such care in the area.

He explained that an investment of 9 million pesos will be made and construction is expected to be completed in the second half of 2023, so that this center can start its operations as soon as possible.

The Director General of Urban and Sustainable Development, Mario Vazquez Ramos, explained that the new center for medical specialties will be built on a plot of land of 1,270 square meters, with a building area of ​​582 square meters, distributed over two floors, and will have six offices, an area for emergency, evaluation, treatment, and reception. , waiting room, pharmacy, social work, multipurpose room, nursing, administrative areas, toilets and storage, among other spaces.

He explained that initially it will have a variety of services, including basic medical specialties for the primary care system, family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, gynecology and orthopedics. Once this module is operational, the services mentioned will be expanded and adapted according to the needs of the users.

The Interdisciplinary Center is part of the actions that the current administration, headed by Mayor Romina Contreras, is taking care of the health of the population and adds to the construction of the “El Olivo Complex”, located in the community of the same name that will provide comprehensive care to the residents of this neighborhood.
