And they unanimously endorse reforms to strengthen the scientific function at all educational levels

Science and Technology Law reforms were approved unanimously

They were sent to the Senate

Unanimously, the plenary session of the House of Representatives approved, by a majority of 454 votes, the opinion of a draft decree to amend Section 19 of Article 12 and Article 46 of the Science and Technology Law, so that they become the scientific professions and technological technologies. He was promoted from childhood in all its types, levels and educational methods.

The opinion, which was sent to the Senate of the Republic due to its constitutional implications, states that scientific advocacy should be stimulated from childhood to improve the standard of science in Mexico.

It also amends Article 46 to delete the phrase “especially for basic education” and reads as follows: “The Federal Government will encourage the design and implementation of methods and programs for the teaching and promotion of science and technology. All levels of education.”

Logic

Emphasizing this view, Representative Alberto Villa Villegas (Morena), Secretary to the Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation, said Mexico needs to stimulate girls ‘and boys’ interest in scientific professions and the role of school and teaching. For science to reduce gender inequality.

He added that tackling national problems and global challenges requires girls, boys, adolescents and youth to move towards fields such as mathematics, engineering and science.

He stressed that it is necessary to adapt the regulatory framework to foster greater integration of students in the humanities, sciences and engineering, as well as to encourage scientific advocacy at all levels of education.

The Chair of the Youth and Sexual Diversity Committee, Representative Rina Celeste Asensio Ortega (Morena), indicated that she seeks to promote science among the country’s students, and to be integrated into the upper and upper intermediate levels. He said it was the duty of the state to enhance the design of methods and programs to teach and promote them.

He emphasized that most of the people in Mexico do not know what the science is or its use. He said that a survey conducted by Konaset and Engey to discover the public perception of science and technology showed that 86.3 percent of people trust faith and magic more than science in solving problems; 57.5 percent believed that scientists could be dangerous.

We have to amend that. The deputy warned that people do not believe in science, and these are precisely the reasons why children and youth do not want to become scientists.
