Intensive Turkish air strikes on three Syrian governorates

The sites of the Syrian Democratic Forces in the towns of Menagh, Ain al-Daqna, Kobani, Tal Refaat, and Marnaz, north of Aleppo, were targeted by missiles, as well as the facilities of peace silos in the town of Ain Issa, north of Aleppo. Al-Watan daily newspaper.

Commenting on the bombings, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar described the air operation, which he described as Sword-Claw, as a great success.

He congratulated the pilots on their success in accomplishing the mission, which destroyed the Kurdish militia shelters, bunkers, caves, tunnels and warehouses.

The address reiterated that Turkey’s goal is to ensure the safety of its 85 million citizens, protect national borders and respond to any treacherous attacks.

In turn, the spokesman for the Kurdish Defense Forces militia, Farhad al-Shami, acknowledged the Turkish bombing without giving figures on the human or material losses.

Turkey vowed revenge for the Istanbul attack on November 13, which killed six people and wounded 81. According to Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu, the order to carry out the attack came from the city of Kobani, the stronghold of Kurdish forces in northern Syria.

Ankara classifies the so-called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), a Kurdish-majority separatist militia allied with the United States, in northeastern Syria as terrorists.

Under the pretext of eliminating this group, the Turkish army and illegal armed groups have taken control of large areas in the governorates of Idlib, Aleppo, Raqqa and Hasakah since 2018.

Damascus has denounced this presence on several occasions, describing it as an occupation, and confirmed that the continuous attacks by Turkey seek demographic change through the displacement of civilians.
