LONDON, November 2 (EFE) – On Thursday, British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly will address his G7 counterparts “deliberate uncertainty” about global food supplies caused by Russia.

At the meeting of the foreign ministers of the group of rich countries to be held in Münster (Germany), Cleverly will defend the need to pressure Moscow to agree to extend the agreement facilitating the export of grain from Ukraine through the Black Sea beyond 19 November.

Russia withdrew from the Ukraine grain deal last Saturday, after an attack on ships in its fleet, although it reactivated it on Tuesday.

In a statement to the Foreign Ministry, the British minister said that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decisions are “plunging the world’s poorest into despair, endangering global food security and leading to higher energy prices.”

“Such actions only serve to demonstrate Putin’s true intentions and further unite the international community against his cruel plans,” Cleverly added.

The British Foreign Office explained that the situation in Taiwan will also be addressed at the meeting in Germany “especially after the celebration of the Twentieth National Congress of the Communist Party of China.”

The State Department said the G7 representatives will assess “how to enhance cooperation with countries in the region to promote prosperity and protect shared values.”

Before traveling to Münster, Cleverly will represent the UK at the summit of the Berlin Operation in the Western Balkans, where he will advocate for a “joint response to Russia’s destabilizing actions in the region”.
