10/31/2022, Xalapa, Ver- “Accreditation is not a procedure, it is really a check of the collective action of the university community,” said the President of Universidad Veracruzana (UV), Martín Aguilar Sánchez, after the recognition given by external assessment agencies to 11 educational programs (PE) from the university’s five regions for their relevance, quality and distinction.

In the room next to the Cultural Center in Tlaqna, a ceremony was held for the accreditation and reaccreditation of physical education in the academic fields of humanities, biological, agricultural, economic-administrative, technical and health sciences.

The accreditation bodies are: National Council for the Education of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry Sciences, AC (Confit); Mexican Commission for the Accreditation of Agricultural Education, AC (coma); National Council on Dental Education, AC (conid); Mexican Accreditation BoardIon Nursing, AC (komis); Council for Accreditation of Educational Programs in the Humanities (AC)Cupehum); AC Engineering Teaching Accreditation CouncilCassie), and the Inter-institutional Committees for the Evaluation of Higher Education (CIEES).

In his message, the Rector of the University highlighted the achievements of the university community to re-accredit the archeology and nursing degrees, and to accredit the dental surgeon in the Xalapa region. This latter PE has also been identified in the regions of Coatzacoalcos, Minatitlan, Veracruz, Poza Rica, and Tuxpan.

In Veracruz and Poza Rica Tuxpan, re-accreditation was granted to coordinators of veterinary medicine, veterinary medicine, zoology, and civil engineering, respectively.

Similarly, in Coatzacoalcos-Minatetlan and Orizaba-Cordoba, the Certificate in Intercultural Management for Development from the Universidad Intercultural (UVI-Intercultural) Veracruzana, Las Silvas and Grands Montanas, received their accreditation.

In this latter area, the accreditation was also returned to the PE of the Agronomist.

“I promise to continue taking UV to this series of permanent educational activities.in contact and for improvement,” emphasized Aguilar Sanchez, while thanking the hard, professional and purposeful work of all evaluation bodies, which he considered strategic allies.

This gratitude has been extended to the Vice-Chancellors of Universities, the General Managers of the Academic and UV-Intercultural Districts, and to all staff of each academic entity.

“Quality of education is not something that is created the previous nothingness, but you have to do it and display it; It is an exercise in continuous self-exploration which cannot exhaust – and does not intend – external evaluation, but involves carrying out continuing education, open to observations of other viewpoints and correcting where correction is needed.”

He said that it is hoped that new meanings will be generated from this continuous training and multiply from them to help link with knowledge, learning and knowledge of the future.

While transmitting the act remotely to the rest of the University, representatives of the accrediting bodies highlighted the quality, relevance and excellence of PE UV recognized today, which is the result of the permanent work and disposition of the members of each student entity who voluntarily decided to undergo this rigorous assessment directed towards continuous improvement.

Directors of academia highlighted the collective work to achieve this result

For example, in the case of a certified dental surgeon, Carlos Carmona, President conid, announced that there are 270 PE in this specialty in the country, of which only 41 have accreditation, including from UV. For this reason, I express to students that they should feel proud of belonging to a PE committed to their comprehensive and quality education.

For her part, Yakilin Antonia Gino Heredia, Director of the Faculty of Biological and Agricultural Sciences Campus Pinuela, Orizaba-Córdoba Region, joined attendees and authorities in achieving this challenge and goal: re-accreditation for the next five years of the Bachelor of Agronomy.

“Today, our educational program is of great social, cultural and economic importance for the protection of agricultural diversity and food sovereignty under the principles of sustainable development, human rights and gender equality.”

Sadid Pérez Vásquez, Coordinator of the UV-Intercultural Las Selvas Campus, highlighted the management of the Rector in terms of facilitating all requirements for the evaluation and accreditation process for the Intercultural Management Certificate for Development, in the southern region of Veracruz state.

Laura Roche Ramos, Director of the Veracruz Region Dental School, thanked the university authorities for their support, which has allowed them to grow to provide strategic programs for students that contribute to their overall training.

His counterpart from the Faculty of Anthropology of the Xalapa region, Maria Antonia Aguilar-Perez, stated that this achievement would not have been possible without the support and teamwork of the members of the appointed commission, nor the various UV cases to obtain the necessary data.

Having received recognition for the re-accreditation of the Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Armando Aguilar Meléndez, President of this entity in the Poza Rica region of Tuxpan, joined this gratitude to the authorities of the University and Cassie.

He pointed out that achieving this goal was possible thanks to the work of the team that attended all the required indicators and what was created within the 2021-2025 work program “for an integrated transformation” of the university president.
