Semiotics laboratory registered in the Secretariat of Research in the Arab Republic of Egypt College of Humanities and Social Sciences From UNaM proposed as a continuity of the work carried out under the UNaM Semiotics Program, its justification is based on the emphasis on empirical and exploratory aspects in the search for modeling, methodologies and theoretical and practical proposals for innovation, taking into account the regional and hypothetical spelling of courses, postgraduate and postgraduate courses.
These purposes will be implemented in direct association with the integration of the UNESCO Chair in Reading and Writing into the University Network. It aims to provide the discipline with an institutional apparatus characterized by its practical, experimental and innovative dynamics, in continuous relationship with other national and international centers with which the College is in constant contact.
In particular, it is interesting to highlight the association with Paraguay and Brazil, by virtue of a set of intersecting and common contextual characteristics.
The Laboratory Project, following the assumptions that underpin our practices as educators-researchers, is proposed as a continuity of the processes that generated, fostered and sustained the development of the semiotic programme. The nature of the works carried out in the various fields of work.
In terms of research activities, the program has an extensive history that began in the 1980s, promoting team building and project development in four main areas of work: the field of semiotic linguistics (linguistics, language politics, grammar, discourse analysis and ELE); field of literary semiotics (literary theory, literary criticism, discourse analysis, genetic criticism, author archives); field of semiotics studies in communication (communication theories, media, memory, discourse analysis); Semiotics Studies Area (Literacy, Semiotics of Language and Literature in the Educational System, ELE)
Currently, 12 research projects are enrolled in the program with more than 30 professors and researchers, most of them classifier, and more than 40 research assistant, primary, and fellows (with scholarships from FHyCSUNAM, CIN and CONICET).
Likewise, it has a broad trajectory in dictating various postgraduate and postgraduate degrees, among which are: Specialization in Intercultural Literacy (2004-2013); Postgraduate studies in semiotic literacy. Modernization, specialization and diploma course (2021); MA in Discursive Semiotics (2004-2016); Specialization in semiotics of language and literature (in progress).
