At the University Congress of Medical Sciences of San Cristobal

Prior to the debate, the boys acknowledged Dr. Suhrez Gonzalez Pilotto, Director of the Camilo Cienfuegos Clinic, for her outstanding career as a student leader during her time with the organization.

Upon receiving it, the doctor invited them to reflect on the role of the FEU, which will reach its centenary in 2022: “to think about how much they can do as members in different places, not only in the university environment but also in societies. To claim by example.”

Problems of uniform availability, basic teaching literature and other issues related to academic training focused on the interventions of attendees, and representatives of the more than 1,100 students enrolled in the branch.

Dr. Joaquín Ernesto Loreiro, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Artemisa, explained that the difficulties in clothing go beyond the province, and that the state is making an effort to guarantee it for those who will start the next course.

Referring to the availability of didactic literature, he said, “In recent years it has not been possible to make new editions of texts for students, and books obviously deteriorate with use. In addition, some do not return texts, although they know that other colleagues will need them.” .

Medical student Talia Martin stated that for some of her classmates, even access to literature in digital form is practically impossible due to a lack of technology. “For them, this is not an option in the absence of printed books.”
