Zacatecas. With the aim of supporting the training of highly specialized human talent, the Zacatecas Government has issued the second call for Cozcyt Scholarships this year. The first was in January-May and benefited 677 young people from 58 municipalities, receiving resources of 4.7 million pesos per semester.
The Director of Talent Development in Science, Technology and Innovation, Sahara María del Río Venegas, announced that the call corresponds to the months of August and December 2022; It targets high school, high school, and graduate students in the fields of basic sciences, humanities, engineering, and technology-impact careers in the state of Zacatecas.
He explained that Cozcyt offers five types of scholarships: Special Talent, Academic Excellence, Academic Improvement, and Project Development at Labsol and graduate studies.
The state official stated that on this occasion, those interested in obtaining or renewing a Cozcyt scholarship for the first time may register, as long as they meet the call requirements and submit the required documents in a timely manner.
He noted that Becas Cozcyt’s guidelines are governed by public policies for gender equality and inclusion. The first seeks to influence the increase in the number of women in science and technology; The second is intended to support low-income students pursuing careers in the exact sciences and/or in low demand.
Del Río Venegas added that the financial support that scholarship holders receive is variable, as it depends on how they participate, for which he invited them to watch the full web call cozcyt.gob.mx.
