Cuban government sends Pakistan condolences over loss of life after heavy rain

The President of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, sent his condolences to the people and government Pakistan For the “unfortunate loss of life and material damage caused by the monsoon rains.”

Cuban Agency latin press (PL) reports that more than a thousand people have died in Pakistan due to the floods, according to data provided by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), which has also verified 1,527 injured since June 14.

The southern province of Sindh is the worst affected, while the physical damage has so far amounted to about three billion euros with nearly 950,000 homes partially or completely destroyed, about 3,500 km of roads damaged and about 150 bridges collapsed.

The floods affected 110 municipalities in the country, 72 of which were declared disaster areas. About 5.7 million people have been affected by the rains, including 498,000 people who have been relocated to relief camps.

Pakistan calls for more help to deal with floods
