These sectors consider that the governor of the eastern region of Santa Cruz, the right-wing Luis Fernando Camacho, wants to destabilize the country and promote a coup against Ars, as happened in 2019 against Evo Morales after the post-election crisis.

At the beginning of the demonstration, the Vice President stressed the importance of gaining power through legitimate elections. “We are here to defend our democracy, our economic stability, our change process, and our lawfully and legitimately elected government at the ballot box,” Chuquihuanca, who had significant support from indigenous sectors at the start of the rally, said.
