Eight teachers from official educational institutions conduct an English immersion in the UK

For two weeks, the teachers will be in New York City where they will organize a series of workshops and experiments that will allow them to enhance their second language skills and improve their classroom practices.


As part of the strategy developed by the Ministry of Education and the British Council of “Educational Promoters for the use and allocation of educational resources from the Ecosystem of Resources for Teaching and Learning English – ECO 2.0”, eight teachers from different regions of the country have traveled to the UK for an English immersion that will allow them to by strengthening their skills in this second language.

The teachers, from the territorial entities of Boyaca, Quindio, Neiva, Rionegro, Sensiligo, Giron, Barranquilla and Manizales, will spend two weeks attending a training course at York Associates International, where they will participate in conversations, workshops and activities 100% in English, while learning about the culture of the English language.

Thanks to this experience, the beneficiary teachers will enhance their knowledge in teaching and learning English, which will be reflected in classroom practices and improve skills in a second language for their students, in this way bridging the gaps and offering equal opportunities between public and private institutions.

Eco 2.0 is a strategy led by the Ministry of Education consisting of a Transmedia ecosystem and a comprehensive strategy to enhance English language learning in rural and urban areas nationwide, benefiting 3.5 million students; Which consists of items such as the delivery of school transcripts in English, please!
