Roscosmos for the first time on Monday presented the model of the future Russian orbital station during the International Military-Technical Forum of the Army 2022, which is being held until the 21st in different regions of the Eurasian country.
The Russian Space Agency said in a statement that the orbital station project, which will be deployed in two stages, is being developed by Energia Space and Rocket Corporation, part of Roscosmos.
The model reveals that not only will the base, science, power, node and lock units be launched into orbit, but a target unit, production unit and maintenance platform will also be launched.
The total volume of the station, which can accommodate a crew of two or four people, will reach 667 cubic meters, including 49 cubic meters for the installation of scientific equipment.
Among the new qualities and capabilities of the station, the developers highlight its great power for specific tasks, the unification of units, the ability to interact with potential satellite towers and different modes of operation.
