Sandra Cuevas fined for not complying with the ruling in favor of the neighbours

The Mayor of Cuauhtemoc, Sandra Cuevas, received a fine and a warning of arrest, for failing to comply with a penalty in favor of the residents of the Juarez neighborhood, who were able to order the demolition of the excessive levels in the Toledo Rooftop business.

According to the Office of Environmental and Regional Planning Attorneys (PAOT), the Mexico City Administrative Court of Justice has ruled, after four years of litigation, that the building is eight floors when the Cuauhtemoc Urban Development Authorization Program (PDDU) establishes a maximum of five levels.

He stated that “PAOT advised and issued various technical opinions, concluding that the construction and the foundation of the Toledo Rooftop, located on the roof, are incompatible with zoning.”

The Environmental Prosecutor’s Office asserted that Sandra Cuevas had not complied with the verdict for which she was “fined and sentenced to arrest, if she was reluctant to do so”.
