Lopez Obrador insists on top without exceptions – Juventud Rebelde

Mexico City, May 3 (Prinsa Latina)Mexico’s President, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, revealed today that he has instructed Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard to insist in Washington that a summit of the Americas be held without exception.

In response to a question in this regard in his morning press conference at the National Palace, the President responded in this way to the White House’s announcement to exclude Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua from the summit meeting in Los Angeles, California, despite his request otherwise.

Lopez Obrador asked not to anticipate events and wait for the efforts of his advisor, who will deal with other issues related to the summit and bilateral relations.

He noted that in a phone conversation last week with Biden he respectfully raised his opinion that in a meeting of the Americas no one can be left out, whether it be Cuba, Venezuela or Nicaragua, and that he replied that he would think about it. .

Well, yesterday Marcelo Ebrard left for Washington, he reiterated, and I instructed him to deal with this issue as well as bilateral issues, so let’s not get ahead of ourselves and wait for the results of that administration, he insisted.

He said he still wouldn’t rule out correction, because someone told him that all countries had been invited back in the day so we’re waiting.

Yesterday (Monday) at his morning press conference, Lopez Obrador condemned the Biden administration’s decision not to invite the governments of those three countries.

He wondered how not to invite everyone, where are they from, what continent, what galaxy, what satellite? But besides that, we will converse, understand each other, brothers, and we must say no to confrontation.
