Guadalajara, Jalisco; March 20, 2022. – The Minister of Health, Edi Ibarez Castro, met with the President of the Mexican Society of Emergency Medicine (SMME), Luis Daniel Sánchez Areola, and the Director General of Epidemiology for the Federal Minister of Health, Gabriel García Rodríguez to share experiences on the importance of specialists and coordinate efforts for the benefit of the population.
Also attending the meeting were the Regulatory Center for Medical Emergencies (CRUM) of the Guerrero Department of Health, Ivan Santana, and the incoming president of the Mexican Society of Emergency Medicine, Guerrero Chapter, Ricardo Hipolito.
The agencies and associations at the meeting established the foundations of a cooperation agreement in Guerrero, a program for Cardioprotected Spaces, in tourist areas to generate greater trust, which will also take Guerrero’s most vulnerable people into remote areas of the state. In cooperation with multicultural universities for translation into mother languages.
Added to this effort is the support of the CARDIOFES Society to donate strategically located automatic external defibrillators and effectively serve those in sudden cardiac arrest.
