Peruvian Economy Minister Oscar Graham and British Ambassador to Lima Kate Harrison held a meeting on Monday to coordinate upcoming joint projects, such as Reconstruction with Change and Bicentennial Schools, it was reported.

“The transfer of knowledge through the British government’s participation in government-to-government (G2G) projects, as well as the installation of the infrastructure table as a space for bilateral coordination, was highlighted,” the Peruvian authorities said in a statement. statment.

Oscar Miguel Graham Yamauchi has been Finance Minister since February 2022, after succeeding Pedro Frank in a series of cabinet changes that affected President Pedro Castillo-Teron’s government.

Prior to his promotion, Graham worked for the Department of Economics and Finance (MEF) as Director General of Financial Markets and Private Pensions. Graham studied economic engineering at the National University of Engineering (UNI), holds a master’s degree in economics from Queen Mary University of London (UK), in addition to attending postgraduate courses at San Ignacio de Loyola University and Harvard Business School. .

His biography on the ministry’s website states, “Master in Economics with extensive experience at the highest level in designing and implementing policies to develop financial markets and the pension system and to promote financial inclusion and productive development.”

Among other highlights of his career, Graham worked for nearly five years at the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) and was a professor at the Universities of San Ignacio de Loyola and Essan.

During Monday’s meeting, Graham also praised Harrison’s work for his high spirit of cooperation in meeting the common goals of both countries. Diplomacy is about to finish her mission as ambassador to Peru.

Gavin Douglas Cook OBE has been appointed to succeed Harrison as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Peru. He will take office during April 2022.
