CARACAS, Feb 17 (RHC) The Venezuelan United Socialist Party will conduct the selection process for delegates to the organization’s fifth congress next week, its first vice president, Diosdado Cabello, said Thursday.
In a press conference of the National Directorate of the Socialist United Party, Cabello explained that the selection of participants for the major party event – scheduled to start next March 5 – will take place between February 22 and 23 through holding base meetings across the country. national territory.
The socialist leader said that in order to elect the delegates, the principle of gender parity must be respected, and the guerrillas would initially undertake a process of consultation and opinions about the men and women who should represent the community.
Cabello noted that this measure will also lead to the selection of fighters to participate in the 4th PSUV Youth Congress, which will be held concurrently with the major event of the country’s main political organization.
Similarly, the First Vice President of the so-called Red Umbrella indicated that the sectors and social movements of the South American nation would also have their representatives at the party event, while the National Directorate of the Party would be able to invite natural delegates, such as rulers and personalities from the intellectual world.
Capello highlighted the primary objective of the Fifth Congress of the United Socialist Party, which is to make an in-depth assessment of its political structure and review the process and the real situation of the organization in each territory of the state, with a view to strengthening it.
