The entity will provide technical inputs to the development of the operator selection process, support the evaluation and monitor its implementation in 13 municipalities: Tame (Arauca); Plateaus, La Macarena, Puerto Concordia, Vista Hermosa, Uribe, Mapiripán (Meta); Puerto Rico (Caqueta); Leguízamo (Putumayo), El Retorno, San José del Guaviare, Miraflores and Calamar, (Guaviare), as well as the Puinawai National Natural Park, located in Guainía.
In addition, the Institute will carry out cadastral modernization of twelve municipalities and national nature parks within the framework of the cooperation agreement signed between the Governments of Colombia and the United Kingdom. This agreement aims to prevent deforestation in natural ecosystems, by implementing a multi-purpose cadastral in ecologically protected areas or areas affected by high rates of deforestation.
The remaining seven municipalities are Puerto Guzmán (Putumayo), San Vicente del Caguán, Cartagena del Chairá and Solano (Caquetá), which independently carry out the selection process for the area manager, while the remaining three belong to the province of Antioquia -Segovia, El Bagre and Zaragoza-, responsible About the director of the survey in Antioquia, who is also responsible for the process of modernizing the Baramello National Natural Park.

“In the 13 municipalities responsible for the IGAC, we will advance the process of cadastral modernization, covering 10 million hectares in strategic and environmentally protected areas affected by heavy deforestation,” the official concluded.
