The Spanish Consulate in Havana announced its plans to simplify the procedures for applying for family reunification visas from Cuba.
As a result of the Covid19 pandemic, there are currently many delays that the headquarters of the Spanish Consulate in Cuba is still experiencing. This is due to the prolonged interruption of operations that caused a backlog of business and procedures during the past months.
One of the most requested procedures at the Spanish Consulate in Cuba is the administration of family reunification visas. Thus, it is one of the processes with the largest delay, especially due to the high demand for applications.
Therefore, in order to speed up this process, the consular headquarters recently announced its intention to simplify and facilitate this process. In this sense, they indicated that they are striving to work more efficiently in order to “help more families”; As shown on their Twitter account.
“Due to very high demand for visa appointments, we are trying to help families,” reads a tweet posted by the Spanish Consulate in Cuba. Next, they indicate the actions that they will carry out in order to achieve the aforementioned goal.
Primarily, the Spanish Consulate highlighted that in order to process family reunification visas in Cuba, those interested should request an appointment. However, this same appointment will serve so that the whole family unit can carry out its actions.

Consulate of Spain implements timetables for family reunification cases in Cuba
Similarly, the Consulate of Spain reported on the implementation of special and exclusive schedules for the consideration of cases of family reunification in Cuba. Thus, as they revealed via their social networks, they will dedicate three days a week to facilitate the procedures associated with these procedures.

Obviously, the family reunification visa is one of the few visas currently issued by the Spanish consulate from the Cuban capital. This, as a result of the recent announcement made by the European Union in it Extension of travel restrictions to their own territory, the Schengen area.
