The session lasted about 40 minutes, and the Washington delegate left the building of the Russian Foreign Ministry without commenting on the media.
The two officials met with the aim of analyzing the situation in Ukraine and the latest developments regarding Russian complaints about the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) expansion to the east.
Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin met his American counterpart to discuss issues related to the climate of tension between his country and NATO on the borders of the Slavic country.
