Fresnillo counseling medicine, without sufficient resources

Fresnilo. The lack of laboratories and classrooms in the Fresnillo Extension Medicine unit, affiliated with the Autonomous University of Zacatecas (UAZ), limits the possibilities of expanding the functions of the school, in which the educational authorities aspire to invest more resources for the development of the school.

Ernesto Alvarado Flores, the unit coordinator, explained that they need a laboratory, two classrooms and a lecture hall for the unit to be completed and to carry out research activities within the Fresno extension.

However, he specified that the lack of this infrastructure does not affect the teaching of students, nor does it jeopardize the verification of the school before the Mexican Council for the Accreditation of Medical Education (COMAIM).

“We comply with all safety regulations, achieve all academic goals, all corporate goals, but the school is required to grow in infrastructure and as a team.”

Although it meets all goals, he added in the unit “What we aspire to with the new infrastructure is to expand the functionality of our extension of research”.
