Go Global brings together Valencian companies with importers from 20 countries

Valencia (EFE). This year, the Go Global Congress is regaining its presence with the registration of a number of importing companies and the rush to export Valencia companies, in the context of risks in terms of energy costs and protectionism in some countries and with the challenge of overcoming the gap that makes it difficult for many SMEs to export.

The conference celebrates its sixth edition on Mondays and Tuesdays at Lluís Vives Business School in Paterna (Valencia) with presentations and discussion tables with community exporting companies, sectoral associations, international buyers, specialists and managers from IVACE International, the Council of Chambers of the Valencian Community and ICEX Spain Export and Investments.

Companies have the possibility to arrange virtual meetings with ICEX trading offices in 16 markets and in person with the foreign IVACE network and with importing companies.

The importing companies present at this conference come from countries such as Germany, Algeria, Ivory Coast, the United Arab Emirates, France, India, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and Senegal, among others. IVACE invited importers of food, wine, cosmetics, industrial supplies, habitat, building materials, fashion and footwear.

At the opening ceremony, Vice President and Minister of Equality and Inclusive Policies, Monica Ultra, highlighted Consell’s will to “build bridges and open roads where small and medium-sized contracting companies in the Valencia region, which constitute the majority of the business fabric of the Valencia region, cannot access by their own means”, with the aim of “facilitating their export strategy”.

Oltra noted that one of Go Global’s goals is to address the “Horizon Africa” strategy, aiming to increase the commercial presence on this continent, which will undoubtedly promote “fair, inclusive and sustainable growth”.

In addition to this strategy, Congress will address other central issues such as traditional international logistics versus e-commerce, cybersecurity and cyber intelligence for exports, and sustainability strategies for corporate competitiveness.

According to the president of the Council of Chambers of the Valencian Community, Jose Vicente MorataIf one thing succeeds in this critical period caused by the pandemic, it is exports, and for that reason, the goal will remain to “train and inform” the business community to continue the path of internationalization.

For his part, the Director General of International Cooperation at ICEX Spain, Javier Serra, conducted an x-ray of the export sector and agreed that, despite the current conditions, the data by the end of 2021 are “encouraging”, with a growth of 21% in the volume of exports between January and August throughout Spain.

In the case of regular exports, they grew by 10% in the case of Spain and 3.7% in the Valencian region, the first recipient of which was Germany.

Serra noted that companies must be alert to risks in terms of energy costs and protectionism in some countries and to overcome the digital divide that prevents many small and medium-sized companies from being able to export.
