Cancun, S.; ru. -He picked heavyweight champion Tyson Fury as his next challenger to fight in 2022. Among the most likely candidates were Dillian White and Joe Joyce, British promoter Bob Arum said, even as he advanced in the fight. It could be in March and in the UK. Fury’s main goal was to unite the titles with Oleksandr Usyk, however, a rematch with Anthony JoshuaIt made me change my plans.
“Fury’s next opponent will be decided by him. If he fought in the UK, I think White would be a good opportunity, and so would Joyce,” Bob Arum said in an interview with Sky Sports.
Fury is the World Boxing Council Champion, and the organization has decided that interim heavyweight title holder Dillian White will be the contender. The Jamaican had to fight the Swede Otto Wallen, however, he was wounded and the battle was cancelled.
Whyte expressed his desire to fight with Fury and questioned him as “the best ever”. “I want to fight the best fighters in the world and Tyson Fury is the man of the moment, he’s the undefeated heavyweight champion. Looks like a lot of guys are chasing Fury. He just shakes his head and stays out of range and all that and nobody targets the body, but I’ll aim for his head and body all over minutes of each round.”
The other candidate is Joe Joyce, the WBO compulsory fighter (one of the belts Osik owns).
Regardless of who the challenger is, Arum insisted that the fight should take place in the UK. “It is very important that Tyson has finished his last fights in the US and is now back in the UK,” he said.
