The Valladolid Science Museum kicks off its seventh session of talks on Wednesday entitled “For Your Health”

The Science Museum is organizing, starting from Wednesday, October 27, the seventh edition of “A tu salud” conferences, where experts in the sector will present various aspects related to the medical field to the public.

On this occasion, according to sources from Valladolid City Council, the talks will address the development of electronic exoskeletons, advances in medical treatments for multiple sclerosis and healthy aging.

The first session will be on Wednesday, by Elena García Armada, PhD in Industrial Engineering and Scientific Researcher at Centro Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), who will deliver a lecture titled ‘Electronic Exoskeletons: A New Horizon in the Treatment of Neuromuscular Diseases’.

The conference, organized under the CSIC’s What We Know initiative, will highlight the enormous importance that robotics have gained in the care and rehabilitation of neuromuscular diseases, such as stroke or multiple sclerosis.

A type of disease that affects adults and children, with 17 million minors in the world suffering from diseases such as muscular dystrophy, dystrophy or cerebral palsy.

Along these lines, the speaker, who is a jury member of the Princess of Asturias Awards for Scientific and Technical Research, will explore developments in the development of walking aid exoskeletons for both adults and children, made between her team from CSIC and the company Marsi Bionics that she heads.

The course will continue on Wednesday, November 3, with a talk “Multiple Sclerosis: A Current Look at Disease in a Thousand Faces” by Carmen Guaza, Ph.D. in Biological Sciences and CSIC Research Professor at the Cajal Institute.

On Wednesday, November 10, the “Bad Iron Health: Diseases and Diseases of Geriatrics” meeting will be held, starring Maria José, Professor of Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Therapy and Health Education at the University of Valladolid School of Nursing. Castro Elijah.

All conferences will begin at 7:00 PM in the Museum Auditorium, with free admission until full capacity.
