The entity’s Maximum House of Studies is the headquarters of Expociencias Querétaro 2021, which aims to enhance the participation of children and youth by promoting scientific and technical research, innovation projects and publication.
At the beginning of the activities, the President of the Autonomous University of Queretaro (UAQ), Teresa García Gasca, acknowledged that Expositions is an important source for discovering the talent of young people who open their minds and abilities to science, in any knowledge area.
She also told attendees that during 2014 she worked as a consultant to Dania Martinez Alarcón, whose winning project was that year’s edition. Subsequently, the UAQ graduate studied her master’s degree in England and then did her PhD on the European continent with the support of a scholarship.
“The experience at Expociencias marked his life because it allowed him to take his work to other areas, to other places, with other people and with other perspectives; I think that really shaped Dania’s path. Mechatronic. technologies and materials science; and dissemination of knowledge.
In his opportunity, coordinator of the National Network of Youth Activities in Science and Technology, Mtro. Roberto Hidalgo Rivas, commented that from the state of Queretaro, there will be 11 projects that he will represent at the national level. For his part, the President of Expociencias Bajío AC, Engineer Jorge Alvaro Cerrón Hernández, explained that 50 students and 17 advisors participate in this course, representing 22 youth research projects from 11 educational institutions of the entity.
He added, “Young participants are doing their best, and benefiting from this great educational experience of Exposition, and using the knowledge they gain in this participation to improve and strengthen their research projects, which represent solutions to social problems.”
In this regard, the Head of University Guidance and Culture Secretariat at Umm Al Quwain University, Dr. Eduardo Nunez Rojas, stated that as an educational institution concerned and busy in favoring and nurturing scientific vocations, Umm Al Quwain University is pleased to contribute spaces to promote it. . , at all educational levels and for the entire Queretaro community.
In conclusion, Dr. Maria Diana Rubio Navarro, Global Teacher Prize Global Finalist and STEAM 2020 Educator winner spoke, who noted that this platform helps young people realize that science is not just a life and career project to be pursued, it is also an indispensable part of making the decision.
The directors of the Faculties of Philosophy and Natural Sciences at Umm Al-Qura University, Dr. Jose Salvador Arellano Rodriguez and Dr. Jose Guadalupe Gomez Soto, respectively, attended the event.
