EFE.- UK health authorities this morning suspended the activities of a laboratory in England after it was discovered that it had wrongly treated around 43,000 Covid-19 tests as negative.
In a statement, the Health Security Agency (UKHA, in English) explained that the laboratory of Immensa Health Clinic in Wolverhampton (English Language Centre) is currently closed, for verification About 43,000 people received negative PCR results after tests confirmed the presence of antigens.
The UKHA said the false results were from samples processed between 8 September and 12 October, mostly from southwest England.

The agency indicated that it was “an isolated incident attributed to one laboratory” and adds that(e) the samples analyzed by this company are “small within a wider network” of laboratories in the country, Almost 1 million PCR reports are processed daily.
In recent weeks, positive cases of Covid-19 have increased in the UK, with 45,066 cases detected between Wednesday and Thursday, 13% more than the previous week, with 157 deaths, 9% more.
