LONDON, Oct 14 (EFE): The UK government has reported that the UK has attracted nearly six million pounds (about 6.9 million euros) in green investment as part of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s plan to promote a green industrial revolution.
The Executive Director indicated in a statement issued today, Thursday, that recent data indicate that with the help of this investment, the country has been able, since the end of 2020, to create 56 thousand high-quality jobs in sectors that respect the environment.
According to the note, the investments are part of the Prime Minister’s ambitions to transform the UK into a global leader in technology and green finance.
At the end of 2020, Johnson pledged to support sectors such as wind and nuclear to generate clean energy, as well as manufacture electric cars or create more spaces for walking or cycling.
The government released this information in preparation for an investment meeting to be held next week in London, which will attract entrepreneurs from various sectors.
The CEO considers private investment in clean technologies a vital strategy to reduce polluting emissions in the next decade.
“These new figures are further evidence that going green means creating high-quality jobs across the UK. We are at the forefront of taking advantage of these new opportunities,” the Prime Minister said in the note.
Similarly, the Secretary of State for International Trade, Anne-Marie Trevelyan, noted that the country is “one of the most attractive investment destinations in the world”.
