The Faculty of Forestry and Environmental Sciences invites a Training Course – Workshop on the Use of Drones, which will be held from 25-30 October, with the aim of providing participants with the knowledge to be able to plan drone flights for audiovisual production and scanning purposes. Processing of digitally captured images and visualization of derivative products.
The trainers will be Luis Gallardo Salazar and Susana Hinojosa Espinosa, members of the official QGIS Mexico Users Group, graduates of the Master’s Degree in Geomatics Applied to Forests and Environmental Resources from the University of Juarez del Estado de Durango (UJED).
They have extensive experience in the use and application of drones and LiDAR technology to manage natural resources, and they also hold a certification of competency as drone pilots from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency.
The basic concepts of Unmanned Aircraft (RPAS) and flight safety procedures and workflows will begin with photogrammetry from scratch, so that at the end of the course participants will have the necessary knowledge to plan and execute professional RPAS flights and derive their own products as one of the main inputs into geomatics.
The training will last for 30 hours of theoretical and practical work divided into four face-to-face modules, with the option to take it in default mode, and those interested can enter the FCFA page or search their social networks for more detailed information on this. It is part of the ongoing training that the Foundation provides to the community.
