Mexico City. The Mexican soccer team regained the lead against CONCACAF after beating Honduras 3-0, Sunday, on the fifth day of the octagon that determines the region’s guests for the 2022 World Cup.
With this victory, Mexico reached 11 points in first place from the octagon that gives three direct places for the World Cup Qatar. The fourth will play an intercontinental play-off in June 2022.
Mexico was accompanied by the United States and Panama with eight units, followed by Canada with seven, Costa Rica with six, El Salvador with five, Honduras with three and Jamaica with two.
Mexico coach Gerardo Martino said.
“We had to win, draw and lose, but we always fight for the ball. Today against Honduras we are back to work on what we always do,” he added.
