Environmental activists block motorway near London

At least 52 environmental activists from the UK’s Insulate Britain group have demonstrated on one of the country’s busiest highways, in an action deemed illegal, to protest against carbon emissions.

“They can issue a lot of commands [judiciales] Whatever they want, but we’re not going anywhere. The group said in a press release that they can confiscate our property, deprive us of our freedom and put us behind bars, but this will only spread our message further.

As the organization stated: “The reality is that this country will go to hell unless emergency measures are taken to end carbon emissions.”

The activists spoke at the main roundabout leading to Heathrow International Airport.

The police confirmed that they arrested a number of people who participated in the mobilization. This is the group’s sixth demonstration on one of London’s main streets.

The Metropolitan Police stated on Twitter: “We attended a protest at Junction 14 of the M25 motorway near Heathrow Airport, where activists cut off traffic on the access road.” “We have opened one of the tracks,” he explained.

On September 21, London’s High Court ruled that motorways and roads, as well as other strategic routes connected to the port of Dover, could not be occupied by activists and protesters.

The court order went into effect last week, so anyone violating the order could be arrested and imprisoned.

The isolation of Britain is an offshoot of the Extinction Rebellion movement. The group is promoting a campaign that seeks the government to reduce carbon emissions.
