Spain is about to vaccinate 70 percent of the population

At the end of Tuesday, Spain will have 70 per cent of the population vaccinated against Covid-19 with the full schedule.

The Ministry of Health is confident that the goal will be achieved, since at the end of yesterday there were almost 400,000 people without two holes, a reasonable amount that can be done today.

The final figures will be announced tomorrow, Wednesday, with many health centers open until midnight and without an appointment in order to achieve the goal set by the left-wing government headed by Pedro Sanchez.

Many independent communities are considering lowering restrictions due to the good numbers. Among those who have already completed the process are Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, Castilla and Leon, Extremadura, Galicia and the Basque Country.

The Regional Council of the National Health System, under the leadership of the Minister of Health, Carolina Daria, will meet tomorrow to review the agreement on the procedures for sporting events, as well as analyze the epidemiological situation and vaccination.

On the other hand, the Cabinet approved, on Tuesday, the pre-purchase of a total of 2,284,000, 85 vaccine doses from the American Novavax laboratories, which will be delivered between the end of this year and the beginning of 2022.

It is the part for Spain as part of the European Union (EU) agreement to reserve 20 million doses of the vaccine in advance, which, by the way, can be produced in Galicia.

Besides, the Madrid administration has also given the green light to purchase half a million French vaccines from Sanofi / GSK laboratories, while the Iberian country is working on its own vaccine, which it hopes will be ready before the end of the year.
